I've owned two Sheratons, the first one was an early '80s from Japan, which I had to sell during a bad point - biggest guitar regret I've had.My second one I still have, is a early '90s, made in Korea. It was bought to 'replace' the lost one, and while it is VERY nice, it still does not match that MIJ one for quality.

But I love it anyway. Both had really nice slim-er necks, with very good playability. The original pickups in the MIK were not as good sounding as the ones in the MIJ.

I've since replaced them, as well as the entire electronic harness from RS Guitarworks. Made it sound much closer to my original one.

It is now a favorite of mine. The Sheratons can be really nice guitars, and I recommend them highly, particularly if you find a good one, as the bang for the buck is really good.I have recently obtained an Ibanez (although not an AM93). Mine is an '07 AF75. Very will built and superb sounding guitar. I like the PUPs and electronics in it very much. The pots are the smoothest of any of my guitars and really have a good taper and effect on vol and tone.

5 Piece Vs 3 Piece Sheraton 2

Guys, the Ksig3 (Kirkland Performance+ 3 piece urethane) spins!! I just hit 5 50ish yard pitches with 5 different balls (removing any outliers or fat shots) on my GC2 launch monitor. The club was a Cleveland 58 (a bit worn). I then pulled out the lowest spinning of each just to be sure I didn't have any outliers. Jun 9, 2006 - Ibanez used to use solid quartersawn maple on their super thin Wizard necks, but with time switched to a 3 or five piece construction, to make a.

The neck is not as slim as the Sheraton, but it is also a much wider fingerboard, so it 'feels' thin, and has very generous string/finger spacing. Makes it a very comfortable guitar to play. So if this is a representative example of Iby quality, I'd say definitely consider the Ibanez.Bottom line, you have to play them to know which will suit you best. I love my Sheraton, but the Ibanez (even though it is a bigger-bodied 'jazz' guitar) is quickly moving up in my heart.Good luck on your search! Unlike the Dot, Casino and Riviera, the MIK Sheratons had a 5-piece laminated maple neck (they call it 3-piece) - strong as steel and straight as an arrow.

For a while the new MIC Sheratons had a mahogany neck with 2 scarf joints. It looks like they've gone back to the laminated neck however:If I were in the market for another Sheraton, I'd favor the laminated neck, considering how common broken headstocks are.I haven't auditioned an AM93, but Ibanez QC is very good. The wood laminate on the Ibi web pics looks much nicer than the Epi Sherry too.Tough call.

I OWN both of them: an MIC Sheraton in natural and the AM93 just like in the video. These are both great guitars and you seriously can't make a bad choice here. They are different enough from each other that owning both would not really be that much of a duplication (the way that owning both a Sherry and a Dot might be considered to be).The one thing I will note is that the Ibanez is quite a bit smaller than the 335-sized body of the Sheraton. That may be either a good thing or not depending on how you feel about it. It is one of the more obvious differences in the two guitars, however.Have fun making your decision.

You're gonna end up with a fine guitar either way!JIm.
